All information you enter into Pepline — item names, categories, schedules, dose logs, notes, and progress photos — is stored locally on your device using standard on-device storage. It is never transmitted to, or stored on, any server operated by us. If you delete the app or clear its data, that information is gone unless you've exported a backup yourself.
The app requests camera access so you can take progress photos. Photos you capture are saved only in the app's local storage on your device. The app never uploads photos anywhere.
You can optionally require Face ID to open the app, using Apple's Local Authentication framework. This confirms your identity using your device's built-in biometric hardware. The app never has access to, and never stores, any biometric data itself — that stays within your device's Secure Enclave, managed entirely by iOS. This feature is off by default.
If you choose to turn on Apple Health sync in Settings, the app can read and write your weight entries using Apple's HealthKit framework, so your logged weight stays consistent between the app and the Health app. This happens directly on your device through Apple's framework — it does not pass through any server we operate, and we never see this data. This feature is off by default and can be turned off at any time.
If you choose to turn on Calendar sync in Settings, the app requests write-only access to your Calendar app to add events for the dose and photo reminders you've scheduled inside the app. This uses Apple's Calendar framework directly on your device — it does not pass through any server we operate. With write-only access, the app can add events it creates but cannot read your existing calendar. This feature is off by default; turning it off removes the events it created.
The app can send local reminders for doses and progress photos. These are generated and delivered entirely on your device based on the schedule you set — no notification content is sent to or from a server.
The app does not include advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, or any third-party SDKs. The only outside connections it makes are the optional, user-initiated Apple Health and Calendar integrations described above, both of which go directly through Apple's own on-device frameworks.
Because all data lives on your device, you can delete it at any time by removing your entries in the app, or by deleting the app entirely. Use Settings → Export Backup first if you'd like to keep a copy.
This app is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 18.
